ART INSPIRATION
West Beach: a traveler's tale of transformation.
Have you had a realization that changed the course of your life?
I certainty did. It happened during my solo trip to the Indiana Dunes National Park, specifically in West Beach in September 2020.
Unlike days before, it was drizzling, windy, and much colder. The holiday was over and West Beach as completely empty. The waves were breaking loud but the sound was so immersing and calming. I sat on the sand and did my meditation, couldn’t hope for a better spot. With a clear mind, I had a realization.
Right there, I decided I would embrace my own desires, fight my own fears and start my own business, and I made a promise to myself to do so.
When I arrived home that same evening I headed to my studio and painted what was in front of me as I made my promise: the waves. This painting is hung since then as a daily reminder to pursue my dreams.
