The story behind Sunset in the Fields

I drive between Champaign and Danville all the time. Same road, same cornfields. But one February evening the sky just went off. I pulled over and stood there freezing on the side of the road, amazed by the colors of the sky. 

I went straight to my studio and painted it. That's what I love about living here. You think you've seen every sunset, and then Illinois surprises you on a random Tuesday.

The artwork on this tag comes directly from that painting. It's a winter drive home that turned into something I had to keep.

About the Artist

Each tag features artwork from an original painting by Clara de la Fuente, a Spanish artist based in Illinois.

Made by hand, not by algorithm

Hi! I’m Clara. I’m a Spanish artist living in Illinois, and I’ve been selling my art at local markets since 2021.

My paintings have been displayed at Busey Bank and featured in local and national press. Over 500 customers have taken a piece of my work home with them.

I created these tags because I wanted something for my own luggage that wasn’t disposable or ugly. Something that felt good in your hand, stayed on your bag, and had a little meaning behind it.

Every tag is printed in the US and shipped from my studio. If you ever have a question, you’re emailing me directly, not a support team.
