INSPIRATION
Step into the quiet beauty of Big Ditch of Champaign-Urbana.
There is a funny story behind this painting. In 2022, I was invited as a visual artist to the Central Illinois Rivers in Art and Poetry exhibition in the Channing Murray Foundation (University of Illinois).
My assignment was to paint “one of the Central Illinois waterbodies” and honestly, at first, I thought it was a joke—Champaign-Urbana isn’t exactly known for its waterways!
But then the organizer sent over a bunch of photos of ditches and tiny creeks, and this one stood out. It became a reminder that beauty is everywhere, even in the most unexpected places, and when you’re looking for it, you will see it everywhere.
Perfect for quiet corners—bedrooms, reading nooks, or calm office spaces—this piece brings a soft, grounding energy to any room.
Original watercolor painting sold in 2024 in the US.
